Guide for trouble shooting solutions

THE CLUTCH DOES NOT DISENGAGE
When there is engine drive, even if the clutch pedal is pressed down completely, this indicates a problem in the clutch disengagement. However, it does not have to be related exclusively to the clutch components. It may be due to defects in the framework components and even to non-compliance of the assembly instructions.

POSSIBLE CAUSES SOLUTION
Clutch assembly misalignment Replace clutch assembly
Incorrect assembly or adjustment Replace clutch assembly
Broken springs or fractured spring covers Replace clutch disc
Warped disc Straighten or replace clutch disc
Damaged, corroded or worn hub (rotor hub) striations Clean striations and lubricate or replace clutch disc
Incorrect clutch disc Identify and use correct disc
Clutch disc with dirty linings Replace clutch disc or replace linings
Incorrectly assembled clutch disc See assembly instructions
Incorrect combination of kit parts Identify and combine the correct parts
Bearing wear Replace bearing
Clutch cable improperly adjusted or defective hydraulic system Adjust or purge
Damaged lining due to exceeding rupture speed Replace clutch linings or disc
Adhered clutch disc Clean clutch lining
Warped clutch assembly leaf springs Replace clutch assembly
Worn clutch assembly diaphragm Replace clutch assembly
Clutch assembly fracture due to overheating Replace clutch assembly
THE CLUTCH SKIDS
When accelerating, the engine increases the revolutions without the speed stress-rate being affected. The reasons may be diverse and varied, and may occur in completely different situations, although the most common scenario is during acceleration.

POSSIBLE CAUSES SOLUTION
Overheating.Burnt lining Replace clutch kit
Incorrect or damaged components Identify and combine or replace with the correct (disc, assembly or bearing) components
Incorrect assembly See assembly instructions
Fractured or damaged clutch assembly diaphragm Replace clutch assembly
Worn clutch lining Replace clutch kit
Lining contaminated with oil or grease Identify and use correct disc
Clutch disc with dirty linings Replace the seal and/or clutch
Damaged engine flywheel contact surface Correct the contact area by checking the adjustments or change the engine flywheel if it is badly damaged
Insufficient bearing lubrication Lubricate
Clutch cable in poor condition Replace cable
THE CLUTCH JERKS
As in other cases, the fact that the clutch produces jerks or “kicks” is not a direct symptom of a clutch defect.Although the wear and tear of the parts is generally the common cause, a poor adjustment of the engine or even the installation of an incorrect component are usually quite frequent problems as well.A poor coupling produces alternations in friction which causes the clutch to engage and disengage continuously producing that jerk effect or even simple vibrations in more insubstantial cases.

POSSIBLE CAUSES SOLUCIÓN
Defective assembly Replace clutch assembly
Lining contaminated with oil or grease Change seal and/or clutch disc
Damaged hub (rotor hub) striation Replace clutch disc
Bearing lubricant loss Replace clutch bearing
Incorrect clutch disc Replace clutch disc
The liners are damp Move about until the dampness is eliminated
Stiff clutch pedal drive Check system and bearing
Defective hydraulic system Purge
Deformed clutch assembly leaf springs Replace clutch assembly
Gearbox Check and replace if necessary
Adjustment of the engine or worn components Correct adjustment
THE CLUTCH MAKES NOISES
Noise which occurs either stepping on the clutch or even while driving.Identifying the problem which establishes that a noise is produced from the clutch is not quite straightforward, as it may be due to several causes. A misaligned bearing, incorrect parts assembly or improperly assembled parts…

POSSIBLE CAUSES SOLUCIÓN
Misaligned or defective clutch bearing Correct or replace
Defective components Change pressure plate or disc
Fractured spring covers/worn springs Replace clutch disc
Worn clutch disc torsion damper Assembled using an incorrect disc. Check and assemble with the appropriate clutch disc
Worn clutch bearing Replace clutch bearing
Worn hub (rotor hub) striation Replace clutch disc
STIFF CLUTCH PEDAL
When the force exerted on the clutch pedal is greater than usual.

POSSIBLE CAUSES SOLUCIÓN
Release force with excessive pressure Incorrect clutch assembly used.Check component used
Bearing in poor condition or not lubricated Lubricate or replace if necessary
Misaligned gearbox Realign gearbox
Worn or improperly installed cable Replace or install correctly
